“Ma’am, Your Oil is Leaking.”
Funny isn’t it that maybe after some time from now, education will change drastically because of the introduction of robot teachers. As much as many will dislike it, chances are, it is possible that robot teachers will replace human teachers in the future.
Needless to say, today, learning is not only limited in schools. Knowledge is not scarse as it used before in the ancient. The world is evolving into a leeway of information from simple to complex. Nowadays, it is easy even for a grade student to be learning subjects taught on college. In this case, teachers and textbooks may be in trouble.
The only factor withholding this shift is the ability of machines or robots to interact with students. Computers has unsurmountable data but it lacks the ability to guide the learning process so for today, its not yet over for teachers. But recently, this advancement by a Ph.D. student Jacob Whitehill, of the University of California’s Machine Perception Lab, made significant development in this issue. In this progress, he made human facial expression as the controlling factor to the computer. Click here for more info.
We don’t know for sure where this advance will land but this is considerable sign that the days of “Teacher, teacher, I am sick” is starting its countdown. Maybe, someday we’ll hear, “Drop, drop, drop, the oil of my Ma’am.”
