Literally speaking, there’s some money in blogging. But honestly, it’s not for everyone. It’s not that, it’s hard to have your own blog but the juicy part is how to monetize your blog. I heard from some guys that they are earning more than $5000/month in their blog(s). They are the top of the cream in this line and they will definitely testify that it is possible. But I also read about a guy from a certain forum that he can’t even earn a dollar per month. What are the odds? Before, you consider blogging to be part of yourself, ponder these first:
- Do you have something special to write about? For the most of it, blogging involves writing and the world will get to stare what you write. Will you allow a part of yourself be seen and possibly, be judged by various standards?
- Do you have the guts to invest without a future guarantee? Blogging can steal some of your precious time and few dollars but it still depends on you, on how much you’re willing to dedicate. Few hours on writing a post is good and few more in reading some relevant issues is nice. Better if you can do it everyday. But, blogging is like planting seeds. You can’t see the harvest immediately. This takes lot more effort and lots of patience and due to some uncontrollable factors of life, no one can guarantee it.
- Are you willing to learn? If you don’t have enough background about websites and computer, this is going to be painful. You’ll have to learn setting up your blog yourself or ask someone to do it for you. But for your own benefit, I suggest, you learn it yourself. The prize is worth the strain. By the way, setting up is not the end of it. Maintaining blogs is tedious sometime and help is not always available. Aside from that, it is always good to write or blog about new things. If you are a static person that doesn’t like to explore new stuffs, forget blogging. No offense, this is not for you.
This is not the end of the list, of course. We have more to talk about but this is a good start. Now, it’s up to you if your up to the challenge or not. Success is not guaranteed but if you put your heart into it, for what you’ll learn and experience is worthy for every risk. Later, I will post some of the many possible ways how to set up or start your blog and then move on in how to monetize your blogs. This is especially for starters. Yosh!
