R4i 3DS Fix for DSi v1.4.3 Update

I bought two of these a few months back the first worked fine no problems then after about 1 and a half it just stoped showing up on the dsi menu so i said oh well I have another one same thing tho worked for a while and just stopped showing up on the menu it says theres no cartridge in slot is there a fix for this or am I fucked?

@SumPure Your R4i may be discontinued, check the manufacturer’s website for your partciular model. It may be one we don’t carry.

@MrApfelbaum123 The R4i v1.4 is not flash updatable and you will have to replace it. Keep your DSi at the current compatibility of the card.

@ImSiggy Only the Supercard DSTWO will play GBA games natively. There are GBA emulators for the rest of the DS cards, but they do not work well.

your are the man dude i had a 1..50wood on my ds lite and popped it out and put it in my other machine and it worked just fine. You saved my night.

@ImSiggy Well when i went to lanzarote in 2009, i thought id buy a NDSi when they first came out over a PSP, (god wish i didnt) i brought it along with a r4i card, obviously new to DS’s (as it was my first and only ds) i thought id try the internet, this made the dsi update and since then the r4i has never worked on my dsi (this was in later 2009- early 2010, dno if you can fix it, i never tried to download gba games for it when it worked but i think you can, it just runs on 1 screen not both.

i have a dsi 1.4.3 and a r4i 1.4 …the card doesnt works…what can i do??

2) Is there homebrew on it right from the box?
3) Do we have to manually have to download the Firmware?

Ok,im getting this card.and i have a Dsi and Dsi xl running 1.4.3 U..and there saying u have to update the card on a lower firmware dsi or use ds lite..IS there -ANY- way i can update the card -without- lower firmware or ds lite.like mabey on a computr..I have NO idea if the card is ready to use 1.4.3,,,,so i think im screwed because theres no way i can update it besides the firmware/dslite deal.

Can I use this card freely between a 3DS and a DSi, or would the r4i’s firmware need to be changed each time?

Also, is there a difference between this and the regular r4i-SDHC and the Gold? Is it a noteworthy difference?
